Team Braves Wrestling Club’s Mission Statement
- Team Braves Wrestling Club is a disciplined and competitive program that will help its members learn and develop wrestling skills, self-confidence and the ideals of good sportsmanship and respect.
- Team Braves Wrestling Club competes heavily in Wyoming, Colorado, and the rest of the USA at a National level
- Compete throughout Colorado from October through March
- Compete throughout Wyoming from February through May in all 3 styles (Folkstyle, Greco, Freestyle)
- USA wrestling, Metro league wrestling, AAU
- The purpose of Team Braves Wrestling Club is to advance the quality of youth wrestling in and around Cheyenne, Wyoming.
- The goals of our program:
- The clubs goal is to promote interest in the sport or wrestling among the youth and parents in the community.
- Improving wrestling at all levels as well as impacting the lives of wrestlers wherever possible
- To make the wrestling experience enjoyable, educational, and enriching! Pursuant to this philosophy, we will expect our athletes, wrestling personnel, and coaches to represent our program and school in an acceptable fashion at all times!
- To Provide a safe practice environment for the youth wrestlers in and around the Cheyenne, Wy. area.
- Develop the characteristics of leadership and good sportsmanship in our wrestlers
- Improve the skills of both male and female youth wrestlers ages 4-14 along with Cadet and Juniors ages 15-18
- Prepare youth wrestlers for high school and those high-school wrestlers wanting to progress at other National and state levels
Constitution
and Bylaws
of the
Team Braves
Youth Wrestling Club
ARTICLE
1. NAME
- The name of the
corporation shall be the Team Braves Youth Wrestling Club.
ARTICLE 2. REGISTERED AGENT
- The corporation
shall appoint and continuously maintain, an address within the State
of Wyoming, City of Cheyenne, a registered agent whom service of process
may be made against the corporation.
ARTICLE 3. PURPOSE
- The purpose of the
Team Braves Constitution and Bylaws is to Establish a Board of Directors
and their duties as a corporation. The Constitution and Bylaws
of the Wyoming Amateur Wrestling Association hereby known as WAWA and
the Metro Junior Wrestling League hereby known as MJWL shall have precedence
in conducting and setting rules and regulations in each of their respective
seasons.
3.1. The purpose of
the corporation is to promote and advance the sport of amateur wrestling
in the City of Cheyenne, State of Wyoming by setting up a formal structure
to deal with matters of membership, competition, officiating and disbursement
of funds to athletes and the members of the corporation.
- To improve the standard
and appreciation of wrestling in the City of Cheyenne for men, women,
girls and boys by providing training in wrestling skills, organizing
meets and tournaments, offering instruction in officiating, owning and
providing equipment, conducting clinics, instructing athletes and parents
in selection of proper equipment, and associating with wrestling associations
and clubs within and outside the State of Wyoming.
- To maintain and
execute any and all rules, regulations and guide lines established by
the Wyoming Amateur Wrestling Association, Metro Junior Wrestling League,
National Governing Body of Wrestling and the State of Wyoming, so as
to remain and continue to be recognized as a nonprofit corporation.
ARTICLE 4. MEMBERSHIP
- The corporation
shall have two classes of membership: Metro Junior Wrestling League
(MJWL) and Wyoming Amateur Wrestling Association (WAWA).
- Membership in the
corporation shall be open to any individual engaged in competitive amateur
wrestling and who is a resident of the State of Wyoming.
- Registration:
Each individual must register and pay the appropriate fees to the team
Braves Youth Wrestling Club to be eligible to participate in MJWL and
WAWA activities and district, regional and state tournaments.
- Birth Date Certification:
Each individual registering with the Corporation must provide the registration
chairman a document, which proves date of birth. The Team Braves
registration chairman will keep the document on file.
- Voting Rights:
Individuals shall have no voting rights unless they are elected to the
Board of Directors.
- Support: Support
membership shall be open to any individual or organization engaged in
the development or support of Team Braves Youth Wrestling Club.
Individual support members shall have no voting rights unless they are
elected to the Board of Directors. Organizations support members
shall have no voting rights.
- Fees: The
membership fees shall be the amount set by the Team Braves Board of
Directors.
- Payments:
Membership fees shall be payable as designated by the Team Braves Youth
Wrestling Club at the time the individual joins the corporation on an
annual basis.
- Non-Payment:
No member shall be allowed to participate in any Team Braves wrestling
activities unless the membership fees are paid in full prior to the
activity. Unless prior arrangements have been approved by the
Team Braves Board of Directors.
ARTICLE 5.
Board of Directors
- The Board of Directors
of the corporation shall include a President, a Vice President, a Secretary,
a Treasurer, a Registration Chairman, and Four Members-At-Large.
- Any member or support
member of the corporation interested in a Board of Directors position
may apply for that position by submitting a letter of interest to the
Board of Directors.
- Election of Board
of Directors: New Members of the Board of Directors of the corporation
shall be elected by majority vote by the current members of the Board
of Directors. Elections will be held during the summer meeting.
Newly elected members shall transition and be in place by August 1.
- The election of
officers shall be every two years
- Duties: The
duties of the officers shall be as follows but not limited to:
- President:
The President shall preside at all open and special meetings, and shall
be the principal executive officer of the corporation. He or she
shall oversee the execution of the regulations of the corporation (Constitution
and Bylaws and any policies or procedures) and shall be responsible
for carrying out the decisions of the Team Braves membership and Board
of Directors, WAWA and the MJWL.
- Vice President:
The Vice President shall assist the President and shall also perform
such duties that may be assigned by the membership and/or the Board
of Directors.
- Secretary:
The Secretary shall record the minutes of all Team Braves meetings and
shall report these to the members at each Board meeting. The Secretary
shall assist the President with the corporation correspondence and perform
other such duties that may be assigned by the membership and/or the
Board of Directors.
- Treasurer:
The Treasurer shall be the principal financial officer of the corporation.
The Treasurer shall provide a financial statement to the officers of
the corporation every quarter of the fiscal year. A financial
statement shall also be available for members to review yearly during
the annual Board meeting and elections.
- Registration Chairman:
The Registration Chairman shall be the chief officer in charge of registering
and collecting fees from the members and new members wishing to join
the corporation. The Registration Chairman shall also obtain all
needed registration materials and distribute them in proper form to
the members. The Registration Chairman shall send all completed
registration forms and also obtain a check from the Treasurer to pay
appropriate fees to the MJWL and WAWA.
- Vacancies:
If an officer of the corporation resigns, is removed from office or
is otherwise unable to serve, his or her successor for the remainder
of the term of the office shall be promptly appointed by the Board of
Directors.
ARTICLE 6. CONDUCT OF MEMBERSHIP
- General: All
members, parents/guardians, officers, officials, directors and wrestlers
are responsible for their conduct at all official functions of the Team
Braves, MJWL and WAWA. Any conduct or action that is unlawful
or which constitutes a criminal act under the laws or ordinances of
the jurisdictions in which any function is being held is prohibited,
including but not limited to:
- Illegal use or possession
of any controlled substance;
- Illegal use or possession
of any weapon;
- Illegal use or possession
of alcohol;
- Illegal destruction,
defacement or damage to property;
- Theft of any money
or property; and
- Assault and/or battery
upon any person
Any person whose conduct
presents or has resulted in an immediate and/or imminent danger to any
person attending or participating at any function, or whose conduct
has resulted or will result in the defacement, damage or destruction
of property, shall be subject to immediate removal from the function.
ARTICLE 7. AMENDMENTS TO
THE BYLAWS
- The Bylaws may be
amended at the summer meeting of the Board Members. An Affirmative
vote of two-thirds of the board shall be required to amend any portion
of the Bylaws.
- The Bylaws of the
Team Braves shall in no way conflict with the Constitution and Bylaws
of the WAWA and the Colorado Metro League.
